Otherworld Portals in New York?

Posted by Robert Goerman On January - 1 - 2013
by Robert Goerman

Two things happen every morning in the Goerman household. First and foremost, my feline alarm clock, Archimedes, impatiently taps my nose until I awaken and feed him. Having obediently sated my cat’s hunger, I take coffee in hand and enjoy a scrumptious breakfast of “Phantoms and Monsters,” that fascinating blog by colleague Lon Strickler, and receive my daily dose of paranormal phenomena, cryptids, UFOs, ultraterrestrials, multidimensional beings, conspiracies and alternative news.

On Wednesday, November 7th, 2012, Lon posted a reader submission that he had received in late 2009. At that time, he asked the author, identified to us only as Dee, if she was willing to point out the location, but she deferred, responding only that it was very near Cooperstown, New York. The account is entitled “Beings From The Rock” and Dee describes her encounter that took place in the springtime of 1990.

602px-Spirit_portalDee explains how she and a girlfriend decided to take an afternoon stroll in the wooded countryside. While resting near a large outcropping of rocks, both heard a humming sound coming from one of the nooks. The girlfriend started walking toward the noise and said that the sound was coming from inside one of the large boulders.

The pair stood there for a few minutes when they noticed that this boulder seemed to shimmer like water. The shimmer grew and changed into a greenish hue. Without warning, two small beings emerged from the shimmering portal and approached the women. These humanoids were about three foot in height with long blonde hair and very dark, large round eyes. Their hands had four distinct fingers and were very rough textured. Dee and her friend found themselves paralyzed and unable to talk. Read the rest of this entry »

My “Position Statement” on UFOs

Posted by Robert Goerman On August - 1 - 2012

I was recently asked to submit my “position statement” about UFOs for an upcoming book. Here is what I decided upon and submitted. Comments?

It is my current opinion that extreme close encounters with certain so-called “UFOs” and “UFOnauts” pose a reasonable danger to the witness. This threat might come in the form of “abduction” and altered memory; physical burns, temporary paralysis or worse from exposure to detrimental radiation; distortions in time or reality during the encounter; and psychical or psychological aftermath following the incident. Never approach a “UFO.”

The witness should safely photograph or video document the “UFO” sighting.

Bulletin 071712

Greetings –

Hope this finds you and yours well.

I realize that it is possible to meet a nonhuman being. These encounters are a matter of record. Quite often, it is the physical appearance of these mysterious strangers, beings, and creatures that is our first clue that we are dealing with the extraordinary. But this is not always the case. There are those encounters where nonhumans play human and our understanding of the situation comes “after the fact.” Too little, too late, another opportunity is lost.

It is my fervent desire to engage nonhumans in conversation.

What to say? What to ask? What not to say? What not to ask?

You are invited to follow me on this quest. I look forward to your comments and suggestions.

Yours in research,

NRA Says “Do No Harm”

Posted by Robert Goerman On June - 27 - 2012

It can happen to you! Anyone anywhere can encounter mysterious strangers, beings, and creatures at any time. Meetings might occur at o-dark-thirty on an isolated country lane or along a bustling boulevard or in the dead of night in the comfort and safety of your own home. It is possible to experience aliens, hairy bipeds, little people, Men in Black, winged humanoids, and things that defy any classification. When it happens to you, please do no harm.

Let us break this endless response of human fear and violence.

As an investigative scholar of weird and terrifying phenomena, I have been fortunate enough to have my writings featured in national magazines and my research serve as source material for many books and popular television shows such as Unsolved Mysteries, The Unexplained, History’s Mysteries, Animal X, MonsterQuest, and Dark Matters: Twisted But True.

My latest endeavor is the creation of the Nonhuman Research Agency.

Confrontation must give way to conversation. It begins with those authors, field investigators, and researchers that pursue transient anomalies. We must develop a profound pacifism and give serious consideration to what dialog we might initiate whenever and wherever man meets mystery. We can influence future eyewitnesses to stay calm and safe and deal with these situations on an entirely different level.

When you do what you have always done, you will get what you have always got.

It is time for a change.

Feel free to contact my Nonhuman Research Agency and share your insight and experiences. As a professional, I respect the wishes of colleagues and witnesses and promise to safeguard confidences and privacy.

Yours in research,

Robert A. Goerman

Smoking Gun to Pittsburgh’s B-25 Ghost Bomber Found?

Posted by Robert Goerman On January - 31 - 2012

Photo used with kind permission of Closson Press

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Dateline: New Kensington, Pennsylvania    January 31, 2012

This unpublished photograph, buried for decades in the archives of the defunct Pittsburgh Sun-Telegraph, might be the “smoking gun” to the strange mystery of that B-25 Ghost Bomber.

Fifty-six years ago today, the World War II vintage TB-25N twin-engine bomber, serial number 44-29125, swooped from the Pennsylvania skies, narrowly missing the afternoon rush hour traffic on the Homestead High Level Bridge, and made an emergency landing on the Monongahela River and sank. Curious divers have since scoured every inch of river bottom. All they ever got was wet. Everything from crude grappling hooks to modern detection devices have been employed over the years. It was as if it never existed.

The mystery deepened when a whistle-blower confessed in 1976 that he was one of three truckers handsomely paid by the Central Intelligence Agency to secretly haul the clandestinely recovered aircraft over to the secure Nike Missile base in Oakdale, Pennsylvania during the dead of night.

The search for the truth about the fate of 44-29125 has become as much a part of Pittsburgh history and lore as the mysterious disappearance of the aircraft itself. There are troubling inconsistencies about the details and destination of the flight, as well as the actual number and identities of the personnel aboard. These conflicts appear in official military and government records, in newspaper reportage, in statements made by the survivors, and in accounts given by both rescuers and eyewitnesses.

Robert A. Goerman was the catalyst for the investigative efforts that followed on the heels of the trucker’s admission on the Perry Marshall KDKA radio program. Robert H. Johns served as Aviation Consultant.

“On one hand, we have Air Force promises that there was no secrecy here,” Goerman says, then he points out things like the testimony and obituary of towboat Captain Carol E. Long. “Honest individuals have placed federal and military authorities in places not confirmed by official records.”

This Pittsburgh Sun-Telegraph newspaper photograph (identified as Plate Number G-8) was taken on January 31, 1956. The tag on the back of this print carries a very interesting comment by the photographer who is acknowledged only as Brunek: “Brass from Air Force leaving Montefiore Hospital after talking to survivors of plane crash. These men made the hospital policy of ‘to hell with newspapers’ a lot stronger.”

That visit to Montefiore Hospital by four officers is never mentioned in the official United States Air Force documentation which reads:

31 January 1956 — Received word of a downed B-25 bomber from Base Operations approximately 1630 hours. Joined Major Pasacreta at Base Operations 1700 hours and drove to scene of aircraft accident in AF staff car. Arrived at AMOCO bulk storage plant south side Monongahela River near the Hays Street Bridge approximately 1830 hours, then proceeded to St. Joseph Hospital and interviewed M/Sgt Alleman. Returned to base.” Read the rest of this entry »

Investigating the Paranormal: Eyewitness Testimony

Posted by Robert Goerman On May - 24 - 2011

The power of the mind influences the way that we perceive reality and therefore remember it.

by Robert A. Goerman

Eyewitness testimony is a common form of evidence in law and the legal system has mechanisms to test witness evidence for reliability or credibility. Examples of approaches to testing and assessment include the use of questioning, evidence of corroborating witnesses, documents, photographs or video and forensic evidence.

This testimonial evidence is sometimes also described as anecdotal evidence.

In science, anecdotal evidence is defined as casual and non-scientific observations which do not provide proof but may assist research efforts.

The formal study of eyewitness memory is usually undertaken within the broader category of cognitive processes. Cognitive processes refer to Read the rest of this entry »

Investigating the Paranormal: The Anomaly Wore Plaid

Posted by staff On April - 28 - 2011

A collection of reports regarding ghosts, phantoms and Bigfoot wearing distinctly patterned clothing.

April 2011
by Robert A. Goerman
For me, the very essence of the strange and unknown boils down to encounters between man and mystery, without the baggage of belief. Some of us have seen the windmill blink. We will never be the same.

As if ghosts, bedroom phantoms, enigmatic visitors, and Bigfoot were not weird enough on their own, what are we to make of encounters where these same anomalies dress in plaid or checkered fabrics? We define plaid or checkered here as any fabric with stripes or bars of various colors and widths that cross at right angles. A true plaid has the same pattern when you rotate it ninety degrees.

Try plugging the word “ghost” along with “plaid shirt” or Read the rest of this entry »
