A Freemason on Guard

Posted by staff On March - 15 - 2013
by Jason Vigorito

This is one of my first meetings here, among Brothers. I want to make sure I don’t do anything wrong, especially with our rituals—they are long-established, and I’d hate to get those rituals wrong.  It’s been a half hour now and I’m doing fine, thank goodness. ….What’s this? I’m seeing an image. A Brother Mason. He’s entered our large meeting room and he’s walking the room’s length to the lead officer. I’m the only one that can see him. All these guys in the room here can’t. None of them know I’m a psychic medium, none know of my abilities. This secret I keep from them, for fear of being branded as a kook. He’s an older man, grayish hair, dressed in a basic dark suit. He stops at the bottom of the steps leading to the Lodge’s Master. Stares up at the Master and gives the Masonic greeting salute. He looks puzzled, confused. He asks, ’Why don’t you return my salute?’ He hesitates. After a few seconds, the man turns right and walks across the room back out the door through which he came in. I’m terrified, what the heck was that all about?!”—Karl Petry

The Masonic Lodge on Second Avenue has stood proudly for over sixty years in Lyndhurst, NJ.  You can

easily mistake it for a church with its white color and lit stained glass window facing the street.  The Freemasons call the building by its official name, “Adoniram Lodge”.

Many Masons have come and gone through the lodge’s doors and walked its halls.  Over the years members grow absent, through sickness, moving away, or those random surprises life throws in all our paths.  In the case of Adoniram Lodge, one man continues to be a constant presence…and his membership continues after death.

After Brother Karl Petry’s first encounter with this specter, the scene happened again at the very next meeting. The same routine played out. Karl was shaken now. He felt he had no choice but to approach the Master of the lodge and tell him what he had—now twice—witnessed. “Based upon many past experiences with these situations, I was unsure how he would react to my narrative–typically, this is a moment I always dread: people grow suspicious, wary, even distrustful toward me, and I certainly didn’t want that to be the case in this situation,” Karl related to me. PART 2: Mystical Adventures in Egypt and Karnak with Sekhmet

Posted by Lauren Thyme On August - 19 - 2012

You may have already read my first article on Mystical Adventures in Egypt and Dendera.  Here’s a continuation of my three visits to the country I love most in the world.

Our metaphysical tour group was scheduled to go to Karnak¹, an immense temple complex covering many acres, built and added to over many centuries.  A buzz went around our group when Mohammed Nazmy, owner of Quest Travel, announced that our group would be having a private showing inside the Ptah Sanctuary, including a very-famous statue of Sekhmet. Can the Human Energy Fields affect Electronics?

Posted by Kala Ambrose On May - 21 - 2012

Auras and Chakras are part of the Human Energy Field

Recently a reader wrote to me with a question about the aura. She wondered if our human energy field could have an effect on electronics and she shared a personal experience which said… “Hello Kala, I have a digital alarm clock that I used to have to reset every 5 days or so because it gained time. I’ve had this clock a few years and its always been this way. My mother’s room was adjacent to mine. She recently died and since then I haven’t had to reset my clock!! Could she have affected the clock’s mechanism? It sounds weird but a few years ago she went to see a psychic who I had seen as well as other members of my family. He knew the names of deceased relatives, etc. There was no problem reading me or other members of my family. And no, we didn’t volunteer information as we were somewhat skeptical and didn’t want to give him any clues he could work from. Anyway, my mother went to see him and he was stumped. He tried and tried but he couldn’t read her. Are there people who can affect clocks, etc without knowing it? Thank you”.

I found this question most intriguing and a topic that I’ve discussed in depth in my book, The Awakened Aura: Experiencing the Evolution of Your Energy Body (Llewellyn 2011).  My response to this question is as follows:

Thanks for writing with a most intriguing question. You ask – “Are there people who can affect clocks, etc without knowing it”?

The short answer is Yes and it has been studied, researched and discussed by people in both the spiritual and scientific realms.

The Aura Body and Energy

As an intuitive, I’ve seen auras since childhood. Over the years, I began to study what I saw in the aura, observing the energetic patterns and shapes as well as short energy bursts that I would see erupting from the body, similar to what occurs when the sun emits a solar flare. These energetic bursts are capable of disrupting electronics and are felt by other people who have intuitive ability and are sensitive to energy. Some people are aware of the energy they can build and for others it is a complete surprise when it occurs.

In some cases, it is not a burst of energy that is created, but rather energy residue that has built up and is trapped within the aura and energy bodies and is not able to be released properly. To imagine what this looks like in the field surrounding the body, visualize a thunder storm right before the rain is released from the clouds. The clouds are heavy and full, the energy gathers and the air feels pregnant, ready for a release. If the conditions are not right and the rain is not able to gently fall, tumultuous weather patterns can occur with lightning and high winds. Energy blocked in the fields can cause similar disruptions as it seeks to be released. When there is a blockage which stops the release of energy, it builds like a thunderstorm and can create havoc. Exploring the Haunted History of the Winchester Mystery House

“The tender word forgotten, The letter you did not write, The flower you might have sent, dear, Are your haunting ghosts tonight” – Margaret Elizabeth Sangster

You’ve heard of haunted houses, but what about a house designed by the haunted to keep the ghosts at bay?

In San Jose, California, a house just of this nature exists. It all began back in 1862, when Sarah Pardee married William Wirt Winchester, the manufacturer of the infamous Winchester repeating rifle. Sarah gave birth to a daughter Annie, who soon died from marasmus at only 42 days old. This fact is intriguing, as marasmus is caused by a lack of nutrients, displayed as energy deficiency (wasting away). Could the haunting of Sarah by spirits, already been around her at this time, depleting her energy and resources while pregnant? Her husband William later died from tuberculosis. Alone and grief stricken after losing her only child and husband, Sarah journeyed to Boston to speak with a spiritualist medium, seeking advice on why her life had been filled with such great misfortune.

The spiritualist medium reportedly told Sarah that she was haunted by the spirits of hundreds of ghosts, the spirits of those who had been killed by a Winchester repeating rifle. These spirits included soldiers from the Civil War, Native Americans and cowboys in the Wild West.

The medium went on to explain that in order to escape the continued hauntings, Sarah would need to move out west and to build a house. The house would not be an normal type of house, rather the construction must never cease. According to the medium, as long as construction was ongoing in the home, it would keep the angry spirits disoriented, while providing a place for the good spirits to commune with Sarah and protect her from further danger. In addition, the architectural design was meant to be complicated and confusing in order to vex and confuse the angry spirits, which would distract them from finding and further haunting Sarah. Sarah took this advice to heart and moved from Connecticut to San Jose, California and bought over 160 acres of land, where she began and continued construction on a home, which is now referred to as the Winchester Mystery House.

After her husband’s death, Sarah received twenty million dollars along with shares of stock in the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. It is reported that the dividends that she received averaged about one thousand dollars a day, along with her millions in the bank. This was in the late 1800′s, into 1900′s, when there was no income tax and the average rate of pay was less than a dollar a day. Read the rest of this entry »

I was listening to a nice man on YouTube today who calls himself Free Spirit. Today he was passing on an urgent message I have heard a lot in the last several years. The message is: the planet is facing critical and extreme woes in the 3rd dimension. That includes accidents such as the Deepwater Horizon spill, Fukishima nuclear accident, as well as pollution of air, water, food, economic meltdown, political and financial foul-play, and increasing solar, earthquake, and volcanic activity.

Free Spirit, along with many famous and ordinary people, believe our planet Earth is getting ready to ascend to a higher dimension, most likely in 2012. If all this is true, then we, as inhabitants on this planet are faced with choices, whether we are aware of them or not. We can be overtaken by death of our three dimensional bodies. Or we can decide to align with the ascension of our planet.

I have been watching increasing problems with interest. I observe that human beings seem to ignore complications until extreme problems are about to happen. We are not to blame. Our human brains are wired to take action if a “bear is at the cave door” (fight or flight) but longer-lasting, complex worries are tough to get our heads around. Not to mention any disinformation or outright lies perpetrated by media and political sources, for money-and-power advantages.

When Bad Is Good

Posted by staff On January - 24 - 2012
For many years now I’ve been having experiences that at first flush seemed unfortunate, only to discover shortly afterwards that, without them, something very desirable would not have occurred or something fairly awful would have. For example, if all three persons involved in getting one of my sons to a distant airport for a trip to visit his father one time had not misread or misremembered the plane’s departure time, we would have been en route to get him there when the car’s water pump took out. This would have left us stranded by the road somewhere without money for towing or repairs. As it happened, our collective error meant that the problem was taken care of at home, allowing us time to safely reschedule his departure. One can posit that some external influence deliberately engineered our identical misimpressions in order to prevent a really serious mishap. When only the mind is involved, there is more room for speculation, but my last brush with “more than coincidence” involves a material component somewhat harder to explain away. The Keeper I

One woman’s story of supernatural encounter and its aftermath

October 2011

by Julia Finley

My Google Homepage has evolved over time.  Now its got a little digi-pet, some news wires, noticeably no games, and a major menagerie of spiritual quotes from various religions.  And of course, my email preview on the upper-left.

Thank heavens for that — I could never take the burn of directly viewing my inbox.  I need a buffer.  Did they have people like me in mind when they designed such things?

Anyway, today’s preview:

You are receiving this email because you have incurred a warning from Religious Messageboards.  Repeat violations will result in permanent banning.

I peek at the previous window to confirm something I thought I saw. …Yes, I received two emails with this same subject header, from two different moderators.  It seems I’m already a repeat offender, but of what crime, I must read on to find out.

My Proof of Survival: The Bloody Hand Print and South Minneapolis

June 2002
by Warren Brewer

My mother died in 1965 of lung cancer. About a year later, my father died of a heart attack. A month or so after my father’s death, a neighbor came through the back door for a visit. She asked me who the man in the bedroom was. But there was no one in the bedroom.

Several times while leaving or arriving at the house, a large man’s figure was seen moving in front of the window. Searches of the house were relentless, but there was no man in the house.

Then one night, I was going up the front steps of the house with my fiancée when a loud slapping sound was heard. My fiancée screamed Read the rest of this entry »

Near-death Experiences

April 2005
by Ava Belle Chucta

I was born in January 1920, and I have had three near-death experiences. The first happened when I had measles at age seven. We had gone on a trip to Leadville, Colorado, a town above the timberline in the mountains southwest of Denver. My father worked in road construction all over the state of Colorado and he was going up there to check out a job.

We traveled in a Model-T dump truck. It was early fall, and it was getting cold. Three of us kids were on a feather bed covered with quilts in the back of the truck. My baby sister was wrapped in blankets on my mother’s lap on the front seat. There was not a cab on that truck.

We stayed in a hotel overnight in Leadville, and it was so cold in that room. It had linoleum on the floor that felt like ice when you walked barefoot on it. Read the rest of this entry »

True Mystic Experiences

March 2001
by  J. Grimes

Gather around, gentle readers. Open your eyes and your mind, and get ready to be entertained with the true story of the house that never was. I grew up in a small city in southern Ohio called Zanesville. During my early childhood I was raised on a farm my father owned. When I was about eight years old we sold it and moved to the city. This opened up a whole new world for me, especially after I was given a bike. As passenger and freight trains were still common at that time, a bunch of us kids would ride to the train station and pass our after-school hours watching the coming and going of the trains. Nothing unusual about that, except at certain times when weather conditions were right, such as stormy overcast nights, sometimes we could see the outline of an old house off in the distance. True Mystic Experience

April 2005
by Lillian Burton

As a little girl I always asked God in my night prayers to send guardian angels to care for me. In my later years I still asked for protection with the angels. Somehow it seemed to give me the strength I needed in so many things. In all my 91 years I still said this prayer and believed.

On December 1, 2003, I felt a twinge and fluttering in my heart. Feeling rather weak and unsteady I took to bed. For a week I lay there, feeling these were to be my last days on earth. I didn’t even bother to eat. As I lay in bed I prayed that God would take me quietly with no pain or discomfort— Read the rest of this entry »

True Mystical Experience

by Dianne Lawson

Who’s here? I thought to myself.

It was November 1980, and I was unpacking dishes in the kitchen of our new house when I thought I heard adult voices in the living room. Knowing my three children and I were alone in the house, I wondered who the kids had let in. I went into the living room and found the room empty.

All three of my kids were in their respective rooms, with no adults in sight. I must have heard noises of adults talking Read the rest of this entry »

My Proof of Survival

January 2000
by Linda McDonald Williams

My husband Joe and I have had several paranormal experiences during our lives, individually before we met, and since our marriage 31 years ago. We are down-to-earth, commonsense people not given to flights of fancy. Our experiences are accepted as important facets of our lives and sometimes, the lesson to be learned from an encounter is not always clear at the moment it happens. This is an account of one experience I had:

It was a chilly Monday night in the fall and my husband was watching a football game on a TV set in our bedroom, while I sat in the living room watching a movie on another set. It was about 9:30 p.m. I had been watching a movie and dozed off, which I was prone to do occasionally when left alone to watch TV while my husband was in another room of our home. I had nodded off and upon waking, it was a little after ten o’clock. Having missed about 30 minutes of the movie I had planned to see, I decided to go to bed to read, a favorite ritual of mine. True Mystic Experiences

November 2000
by Pamela Krommendyk

Out of no where the white wolf appeared streaking across the road.

This experience happened high in the mountains in the Flagstaff, Arizona, area at midnight.

I was tired of driving and my children were sleeping beside me as I drove on through the night. I started to get that heavy eyelid feeling more intensely as the twelve o’clock hour approached. I was thinking intensely about the man I loved so dearly; only a day ago we said goodbye in California. Little did I know at the time that I would never see him again. Read the rest of this entry »

Crisis At The Fairy Mound

Posted by staff On February - 6 - 2011
Fairy Ring, from http://www.morelmushroomhunting.com/fairy_ring.htm

Fairy raths such as this one pictured here, have been subject to myth and legend for centuries.

October 1960

by Raymond C. Otto

At the town of Wexford, Ireland, one day in May, 1958, some men from the state electricity board began digging a hole in a little mound for erection of a light pole. As soon as the townspeople saw what was happening they told the men that no light pole ever would stay put in that particular spot.

The mound, they explained, was a fairy rath and everyone in Ireland knows that fairies who live in such raths resent being disturbed.

The electricity men just scoffed and finished the hole. They popped in the pole and carefully tamped the earth back in around it.

The next morning the pole was loose. “It was the little people,” the Wexford folks said, shaking their heads.

The workmen came back and reset the pole, but the next morning it was loose again. Then the scientific-minded electricity men dug a hole six feet wide, put the pole in the middle and rammed the earth around it so firmly they were certain nothing could shake it. The following morning the pole was as loose as ever.

Finally the electricity men gave up. They dug another hole four feet outside the rath and set the pole there. It is still standing and is as steady as a rock.

True Mystic Experiences

September 2007

On a late afternoon in the early spring of 1972 I was involved in my second auto accident in ten months. Another drunk driver hit my car, but this time the injuries were devastating. I blacked out for a moment. When coming to I witnessed the smoldering wreckage of the other vehicle. For sure I thought the other driver was dead. Twisted metal blocked my view for a moment. Don’t panic, I thought. Someone will come to help you. But it seemed forever before anyone arrived. Read the rest of this entry »

FATE Magazine “True Mystic Experiences”

January 2001
by Dolly Smith

When I was a young girl, I was a member of a group called “Brownies.” The troop building was not far from my school. This incident took place during the winter. It was so very cold and raining. It seemed the wind was always blowing. On this particular day I had walked home after school, and as I was doing my homework, I remembered my Brownie meeting. I rushed to my bedroom and put on my uniform. By now it was pouring down rain. I put the hood of my coat over my head and walked out the front door. I then ran as fast as I could to the troop building.

I was soaked by the time I arrived on the front porch. Nobody was there. I checked the front door and it was locked. It was either the wrong day or I was late for the meeting. The place was deserted. Read the rest of this entry »

My high school sweetheart and I were married soon after we graduated in 1970. Being children of the 1960s, we often talked about death and the occult. We agreed that whichever of us died first would try to make some kind of contact.

Jerry got into drugs, much to my dismay, and we eventually divorced in the late 1970s. As time went by, we both married again. We remained friends after our divorce but kept only minor contact.

In May 1993 I received a phone call that Jerry had died of an accidental drug overdose. I called my ex-sister-in-law who proceeded to tell me that Jerry’s current wife did not want me to attend his funeral. I did not want to cause any problems for the family, so I decided to abide by her wishes. Read the rest of this entry »

Ghost of Burwick House

Posted by staff On January - 20 - 2011

The Burwick House was named for the village of Burwick which is now Woodbridge, Ontario.

Walking into the circa 1840 house, there seemed to be something alluring about it, something I couldn’t immediately put my finger on.  As we entered the front door, it felt as though we were intruding in someone’s private gathering. The place was decorated with old Victorian charm. Evergreens, berries, and dried fruits added the sense of Christmas from years gone by. The Burwick home must have been inviting to anyone who was fortunate to attend the parties that took place here long ago. Wandering around this magnificent home was like being taken back in time. The table was set, the furniture all in its place, the grandfather clock stood tall and proud as we passed it to walk up the staircase. Read the rest of this entry »

A few minutes later, I was approached by a man who came up behind me. He asked if I was the same Charlie Brown that writes about angels. I told him I didn’t know if I was the only one, but I did write about angels.

“Did you write one about 50 years ago about your brother?” he asked.

I paused in amazement. “Yes, I did,” I replied. I had totally forgotten the story. It appeared in a magazine that I could no longer remember. Read the rest of this entry »

Dakota’s Blue Flower

Posted by staff On January - 14 - 2011

November 4, 1989, to September 2, 2001: That’s how long we had Dakota to share our lives. Her dam was a purebred black lab and her sire was a purebred collie. She was named after the Black Hills of South Dakota where we vacationed every year during Bike Week in Sturgis. My husband Guy brought her home just before Christmas 1989. Our daughter Amy and I had our backs turned when he walked in and placed this small package with a large heart under our Christmas tree. We were delighted.

She was still just a cute little puppy when I realized she could be aggressive. She also seemed not to walk quite right. One day I read about hip dysplasia and realized that could be the problem. I told the vet about it. Dakota was too young for him to run tests on her, so we waited. Some months later, the vet took her out to the parking lot and watched her walk. He admitted I was right, and the X-rays proved it. Read the rest of this entry »

How I Discovered FATE

Posted by staff On January - 13 - 2011

You could say I discovered FATE magazine while conducting an experiment. I am not sure of the year, but I think it was 2003. I was working a part-time job at a small shop in Lake Anne Village Center in Reston, Virginia.

One evening as the daylight ran out, I left work and walked to my car. I had recently been experimenting with “asking and listening.” I had some free time between work and an event I was attending later that evening, so I decided to try asking and listening to see if an angel or spirit guide might suggest something to for me to do. I posed my question and waited silently in my car for an answer. I had only so much faith in this kind of thing, but I was open enough to experiment, in spite of being uncomfortable with the whole business. Read the rest of this entry »

Heavenly Orb

I remember that balmy summer evening in 2006 as if it were yesterday: suburban noises echoing in the warm outside air, dogs barking, the excited laughter of children, and the distant sound of cars and motorbikes snorting past in the merriment. I sat alone in my sitting room, meditating quietly on the joyful sounds outside in my neighborhood. The clock on the mantelpiece told me that it was just after 7:00 p.m. The television was switched off, and my mind gently surrendered to a quiet smoothness of contentment. From time to time,my eyes wandered to gaze at the familiar objects in the room: the small statue of Buddha on the mantle, the family photographs, and finally the large, colorful tapestry of a proud American Indian chief wearing a fabulous headdress of feathers. On December 22, 1991, my mother passed away. I had a vivid dream where she talked to me and said she had to go on because there was still a lot of work to do. The living experience intense sorrow because our loved ones, whether in human or animal form, aren’t physically in front of us to hold a conversation, to hug or to pet.
