Posted by Fatemag On October - 4 - 2011

Appearing on the surface of the waters, a face jumps out at the veiwer.

This image was captured by a vacationing family at Pearl Harbor. As of yet, the image still remains a mystery.

The De Vanny family visited the Arizona Memorial on Monday, and as usual, Susan took lots of photos.

“I was flicking through the photos and seeing how many do I really need, and take some of the bad ones out and then I came across this particular photo,” said Susan De Vanny.

The particular photo of the water over the wreckage, with oil shimmering, Read the rest of this entry »

Andy Coppock & The ITC ‘Probe’

Posted by April Slaughter On June - 29 - 2011

One man’s scientific achievements making a positive difference on both sides of the veil.

by April Slaughter

For most of you reading this blog – especially within the paranormal community – the term Instrumental Transcommunication (or ITC) will be a familiar one. To explain it in the simplest of terms, ITC is communication with ghosts/spirits via use of electronic devices. This differs from Electronic Voice Phenomenon (or EVP) in that the communication is not only heard upon playback of a session recording, but in real-time as it occurs.

Frank’s Box, the Radio Shack Hack, the MiniBox, the Ovilus, and others are among the most commonly known and referred to ITC devices in the field of paranormal research today. Over the past several years, I have collected and personally used each one of these devices in my own research.

Nearly three years ago, I was contacted by an individual by the name of Andy Coppock who had somehow come into possession of a piece of investigative equipment of mine (a K-II meter) that had gone missing. My last name was written on the device, and therefore made the search for its owner a fairly simple task. At the time, I had no idea who he was. Today, I consider him a trusted colleague and friend.

Andy is a biomedical research scientist and laser physicist currently working just outside of Los Angeles, California. His day job consists of designing neurovascular stents (for stroke therapy) and artificial heart valves, but he also happens to be an inventor of several different audio/visual devices used to capture some of the most fascinating phenomena I have ever come across in the paranormal field.

The Calico Cat

A man recounts his experience with a stray cat’s deceased owner.

January 2004
by Thomas M. Ginther

Cally is a short, fat female cat that started showing up at my house in January 2002. She showed up at the same time every day, so we assumed that her owners let her out when they got home, and being that she was quite fat, she was just looking for an extra free meal. We have fed a number of stray cats over the years and have always kept an extra bag of food on hand.

About the end of February, Cally started staying Read the rest of this entry »

Investigating the Paranormal: Eyewitness Testimony

Posted by Fatemag On May - 24 - 2011

The power of the mind influences the way that we perceive reality and therefore remember it.

May 2011
by Robert A. Goerman

Eyewitness testimony is a common form of evidence in law and the legal system has mechanisms to test witness evidence for reliability or credibility. Examples of approaches to testing and assessment include the use of questioning, evidence of corroborating witnesses, documents, photographs or video and forensic evidence.

This testimonial evidence is sometimes also described as anecdotal evidence.

In science, anecdotal evidence is defined as casual and non-scientific observations which do not provide proof but may assist research efforts.

The formal study of eyewitness memory is usually undertaken within the broader category of cognitive processes. Cognitive processes refer to Read the rest of this entry »

March 2011
by Rosemary Ellen Guiley

Finally!  The Vengeful Djinn, my first book co-authored with Philip J. Imbrogno, is now published, and off to a rocking good start.  We zoomed to #2 on the Amazon parapsychology and supernatural lists, and are still going strong.  This month both Phil and I are busy conducting numerous solo and joint radio interviews on the Djinn, and I have presentations on them at conferences.  If you are one of the first to read this ground-breaking book on the Djinn and their activities among us today, please drop by Amazon.com and post a review.

Our brand new website, Djinn Universe – www.djinnuniverse.com – also has gotten off to a good start.  Visit the home page to seeing a stunning trailer done for us by CORE Films.  DjinnU is an information site about the Djinn, and we are encouraging people to submit their Djinn experiences as a way of promoting discussion.

Paranormal Adventures Out West

I usually spend winter at home writing, but this year I was out on the road in February, in California and Arizona.  Both places were cool and rainy, but it sure beat the dreary snow landscape back home in Connecticut. Read the rest of this entry »

The History of the Soap Factory:

The Soap Factory is located in the historic Marcy-Holmes neighborhood in Minneapolis. It was first part of St. Anthony, incorporated in

1855, which is located to the east of the Mississippi River. St. Anthony was eventually absorbed by Minneapolis in 1872. This area was home to the first neighborhood community and commercial center in this part of the region, utilizing the river as its main power source. Many flour and lumber milling companies sprang up in this area, beginning what would later become Minneapolis’ historic warehouse district in 1971.

Built in 1892, the Soap Factory was first constructed as a one-story warehouse for H.R. Carpenter’s Union Railway Company, with another story added a few years later. The building changed hands a few times in the early 1900s, first becoming a syrup manufacturing company and then a battery company. In the 1924, General Chemical and National Soap Factory (later National Purity Soap Factory) bought the building and began manufacturing commercial soap and detergents from animal fats until they moved to Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, in 1992.
