Does my submission have to be about UFOs? 

No! FATE Magazine may be the original and best magazine to cover those pesky flying saucers, but we feature topics from all walks of weirdness. If it’s highly strange, unexplained, and interesting, it’s a great fit for FATE.

What type of content does FATE accept?

We accept relevant book and movie reviews, both long- and short-form journalistic articles, editorials, op-eds, original artwork/photographs, and reactions or feedback from our readers. Word count depends on the submission type, but typical ranges are anywhere between 800-2,500 words.

Great! What are the guidelines?

• FATE only accepts content (articles/artwork) that has not been previously published elsewhere—either in print or online. 

• We do not accept content that has been created by, or with the help of, AI. 

• All personal accounts must be true and factual, and FATE editorial staff may ask for additional details or other proof to support claims. 

 

What’s in it for me?

In addition to gaining exposure with FATE’s highly-targeted and engaged readership, every accepted contributor receives:

• Publication and a byline in both the print and digital versions of FATE Magazine.

• A copy of the issue containing their submission.

• A professionally edited and designed presentation of your submitted content.

I’m in! How do I submit something for review?

Send your pitch, completed article, or scan of your artwork to FATE@FATEMAG.COM and our editorial team will review it for inclusion in an upcoming issue. 
Please include the following along with your submission:

• An author bio that will run with the article (typically 3-5 sentences).

• An author headshot or photo that we can run alongside your bio.

• Any original or free-to-use images that you wish to accompany the article. It is OK if you don't have these, as our team will add graphics as needed. 

• For your promotional space: Any graphic or marketing material for your (podcast/book/website/etc.) that we might include in the issue.

• Your mailing address to send the issue of FATE Magazine that features your piece.

Any fine print?
FATE reserves the right to edit submissions for grammar, clarity, or space, and will make every effort to confirm these changes with the author prior to publication. 

The author/artist will retain the original copyright of their article, and after its initial publication in FATE, it may be republished elsewhere with a link or credit back to FATE Magazine.
